So typical *rolls eyes*
I have a small Wilko's tank set up to breed snails in for my puffballs... filter, plants and everything. I wait and I wait and no babies, ramshorn or pond. Maybe a couple but really it's looking barren! Then I leave a jug of used tank water on the side for a week (yucky for me to leave it I know
) and it's FULL of baby snails!
They're even breeding in the puffer tank, though the Fahaka seems to be making short work of them when he catches sight of them.
Think I shall give up with their own tank now and just leave a grotty jug out for them

Haha, maybe because of the small area, it warms up quickly? Also, could be the stagnancy?

Not sure about the temp - assuming it'll be quite uneven in the jug because there's no heater, silly snails. I really thought ramshorns were intolerant of ammonia/nitrite, but it seems like they're loving the manky jug
Maybe i'll just fill up the wilkos tank with some plants and see what happens without a filter

ha ha come to my house. I have a bucket in the garden with live daphnia and baby snails in, and a water barrel down the garden full of baby snails. I used to breed them for my dwarf puffer....
