Finally got some OK pics

Well i was a bit bored so thought i would take some pics of the BN fry and surprisingly i actually managed to get a few of there bristles.

Im gutted about this one because i missed it flaring by millionths of a second it was flaring when i pressed and stopped just as the pic was taken

They could have gone a month or 2 ago but im going to grow these to aduts since they will be in the 150G soon then i might be able to get a bit more for them and its great watching them grow.

The biggest one is about 3" including tail. Ive got hundreds. Theres a video of them feeding here and thats only on flake

Oh look at them they are gorgeous photos Kiz, those cute little bristles Love me wants a boy no signs of bristles on either of mine but i guess the smaller one has a bit more growing before its 'true colours comes out' (so to speak!)

Cheers. Once they get 2 1/2" they should start getting them. But they will be tiny and i mean tiny.

This one has just started getting bristles you can just see a few

And then once they get to about 3" the bristles really start to come out.

oh yes i see, but really cant see any of those on my biggest BN its really looking bigger each day even tho its probably not growing that much, lol! Really bulking out, didnt realise how much size difference there was between my 2 until they where close to one another yesterday!

How big is the biggest one? It might just be a female. If its bulking out loads then it probably is.

Its really bulky id say about 2" long and about 1.5cm to 2cm wide the other looks really weedy compared to 'her'!!

At that wide i would say its a female but its hard to tell until there bigger.

So i can only wait then, her face is as smooth as a baby's bum i keep looking when she comes up close i know she's worked wonders with cleaning my algae from the back of my tank where i can only reach on water change day! Perhaps why she's so fat thats her favourite spot, hehe Smile

Could be. BNs really do great on a diet with lots of algae. The only problem is they do get a little lazy when older especially males once they realise they can just take food thats droped in.

Yeah. Once they get to about 4" they normally hide more and eat less algae. I never see my 5" brown female out in the day unless i put food in.
