15G asian riverine tank

Post by kizno1 on Sun Oct 17, 2010 11:00 am

The stocking is now
4 Akysis prashadi
1 Akysis longifilis
4 Golden Panchax (1 male 3 females)

The tanks got no heater and been at a steady 22c. Theres 1000LPH flow which means theres about 20X turn over per hour. The tanks not great but its not to bad just from bits i had laying around.

Cheers. Im quite happy with it and the fish seem to prefer it over the 10G. I think i might get another 1 or 2 of the cats though because they are amazing.

I'm glad to hear they get along alright. I tried to google image the longifili with no luck. I tried something else with no luck. Did you spell it correctly?

I'm starting to appreciate the natural look more and more as time goes by. After all its their habitat and all. Should be close to their actual surroundings.

The a lot for me to remember! lol! The fontaneus caught my eye.

I really prefer natural looking tanks. After having a few tanks like it i could never go back to coloured gravel and ornament. I would just prefer to see the fish in a more natural looking environment and im sure they appreciate it more.

There all nice IMO. I really like the A. pictus but since theres not a single registered keeper of them on that site i doubt ill ever get my hands on some.

So thats where you order from if you can't find locally? Is there a way to
put out a request for your interests? I'd think there would be someone as
enamored with them as you!

No thats just a massive data base of info on them and people can list which ones they have just so its easier to tell how common they are and bits. Great for info on catfish its always the first place i look at for cats. Believe me theres people out the with alot more and that no alot more about them than me. This is a completely new thing to me ive never had a fish like them. I wish i could get some through there but with not a single person on there registered as keeping them i dont think ive go a chance.

I would normally agree on you with that but unless i spend the rest of my life travelling and looking on websites for the i doubt ill ever find them. The only way i think ill ever get any is if i go to asia and catch some myself.

Theres the new member Stan who resides in China. Maybe he could assist
you. Of course theres the export/import factors to consider.

Maybe but by the time i pay the costs for imports its going to me ridiculous amounts of money for a few fish.
