Its just comes done to how much you covet them. You could pay the price
and then try to breed them. If successful you would be the registered breeder
and could control the price!

I would absolutely love it if that happened but planet catfish hasnt got a single breeding report on any of the types and some of the people that keep them really know there stuff and still havent managed.

There has to be a way to encourage them to breed. Whatever that might be.
Self perpetuation of the species has a strong drive. Eating and breeding is their life.
Try to learn what triggers their drive and mimic it to ones best ability.

Yeah but since no one has bred them no one knows the triggers and theres so many variables to try and match to encourage them temp, current, environment, time of year, pressure, PH and so on thats why there so hard to breed. There was a breeding technique i showed netty and she put a link to on here which is good for hard species which i might give a go once they have settled because i really would love to try breeding these.
This is it

I read that already. You don't think I come up with ideas on my own do you?
One factor might be the falling vegetations with their oils or whatever.

I've gotta run as I got called for some work. Check you out later!

Well after some searching i have found out A.vespa a close relative to the ones i have has been spawned in aquariums after a 80% WC but thats all the info given on it. i also found in the wild they spawn in nests in the shallows made by males but thats as much as i can find on them.

The 15G started leaking this morning so ive gave the fish in my 21G to the LFS and moved them into there. The tank now has 2 fluval 3 plus in it so 1400lph of flow and all the fish seem to be enjoying it. The stocking is now
7 Akysis prashadi
3 Akysis longifilis
4 Golden panchax
8 Harlequin rasbora
i wouldnt normally have added more so soon but the filter in the 21G was already cycled for a load of fish so i thought i may aswell add a few more before the bacteria dies off.

Well thats semi-good except you don't get any cash. Any store credit?

Now you can repair the tank and come up with something else.

Maybe you could get away with quietly sneaking in a sliightly bigger one! lol!

So it worked out rather well then!

Synodontis lucipinnis --- 5"@$25ea. or all 5 for$100.

Just checking out tank deals and saw these. Thought I'd pass it on for grins!
I know! Not new to you!

Thats a rip off there worth about £3. now if they where Synodontis petricola which are often confused then thats a great price because they cost £25 each here which is what $35-40 i think. But there very very hard to tell the difference between so its always risky buying them unless you can be 100% sure what they are.

You did a great job! Looks really good to me.

I'm looking forward to the day when I get a large tank and start setting it up
ala natural.

Missed out on a free complete 29gl. on Sunday. Damn! Hope to find one for
a decent price around Xmas. I think my new job will last until then.

Cheers. I want to get an external or hang on filter though because the filters that are in there now are huge.

Thats a shame but like you said Christmas will be a good time for some cheap tanks.
