Is that a "talking catfish" or "striped dora"? my mum has these, they've grown so fat and big

Yeah there sometimes called that or Striped Raphael Catfish. They get to about 8" sometimes bigger and the females get HUGE width ways. I was tempted to but another 2-3 but i thought that might be pushing it a bit plus i would prefer more cichlids.

They're really nice looking
my mum's 2 are huge now - she got them at an inch and now they're maybe 5 inches. Very cute, think she wants some spotty ones too

Yeah they are stunning. Ive been wanting one for a while but the £15 price tag has always put me off but when they let me swap 6 hatchets for them i was more than happy. Its been alot more active than i was expecting.
Im guessing she wants Agamyxis pectinifrons

Really
Thats a great price. There normally £15-20 from what i had heard. At that price i would snap them up while their there.

Re: Platydoras armatulus
Well thats what ive heard anyway. I cant find them anywhere around here. How big where they? I think the £15-20 is normally for them about 3-4" so if they where really small that could be why but even then it still seems like a great deal to me.

Re: Platydoras armatulus
They were about an inch I suppose, maybe a little more. They've had them the last 3 times i've been there, maybe there's a local breeder or something

Re: Platydoras armatulus
Dunno. If they have managed to breed them then they must be doing a great job because from what ive heard there very hard to breed. Let me know if your ever in Norfolk and fancy bringing some down

Re: Platydoras armatulus
I know but they have a price tag to match. They get to about 10" so a good sized fish i just dont want to pay £60 for one at 3-4" because i would be gutted if it died. Ill just have to keep my eye out for a good deal on one.
