@ F Banks still only have 3 BN's just updating on their growth and cute bristles, lol! Iv discovered iv got 2 males and 1 female.
My male and female i bought together are in the 100 litre tank now and my new male is in the 95 litre female betta tank.

@Kizno not heard anything from MH they said they'd ring but il be going next week to see what they've got i know they get fish in on a Tuesday then quarantine till Saturday. Fingers crossed they'll have 2 for me.

Yeah iv seen those they are a bit expensive like you say tho.

When can male and female BN's start to spawn and whats the signs of them 'liking' one another so to speak?
My 2 have been sitting together but i would think too young yet, but thought id ask Kiz or anyone who knows Very Happy

I think from about 2.5" onwards they can breed but its normally about the 4" mark they do. Signs the male will start cleaning out a cave, and every now and again the female will go in there with him, after she is happy its clean and ready to spawn the pair will spend a while in the cave through the day then at night/morning they spawn. Atleast thats whats happened with mine

Okay thanks for that Kiz only she what iv seen hides in one of the coconut caves he tends to stay under the bridge thats in there.

Also since iv moved them pair they have kinda changed colour so they are harder to see il a yellow/brown colour rather than the deep brown they where, is this normal?

My male hides under a bit of wood and only uses that caves when hes spawning. I doubt they would spawn under a bridge because they like there to only be 1 entrance but you never know.
I wouldnt worry about it/ Like i said with the spots they do vary in colour alot so aslong as there not going white or anything like that its nothing to worry about.

Okay no they arent going white, it looks like they are trying to blend into the gravel colour but obvisously they wont go bright red lol! As the male in the female tank he was grey when i first got him and now he is dark brown like the other 2 where when they where in that tank.
They fasinate me so much, fab fish, cant wait to see if i can get my albinos.

It could be something to do with the gravel alot of fish do change colour slightly depending on the substrate colour. Albinos are great.
