Ghost Shrimp

Post by 2tall on Thu Dec 23, 2010 2:57 pm

Does anyone think a few Ghost Shrimp will support the bacteria in a 2gl. hex with an under gravel filter?

I'm looking for something to keep the medium active so I can use the tank for transitional housing.

Shrimp make very little waste so might not help much but they should keep some alive, What about 3 shrimp and an apple snail that will help keep the bacteria going.

Mystery snails do the same? I don't want snails coming out my ears! I
suppose Cherry shrimp are bigger than the ghost. Any other shrimps I could choose from?

They should but there smaller and if you only get 1 apple snail theres no way of it breeding they get to about the size of a golf ball.

Ghosts are bigger than cherrys, cherrys are one of the smallest types of shrimp. I think ghost shrimp would be a good choose if im honest.
