Elevated Nitrite Level!

I tested my 5gl. with a Betta and four Pygmy Corys just now. I used a test strip first which indicated
elevated nitrites. So I did a real test on the ammonia & nitrites. Ammonia zero and nitrites read .50ppm
both times. What to do? I'm going to do a 40% wc now.

I would do a good 50% wc and check again in 12 hours and if its still there do another one.

I already did almost a 50% and added API Stress Zyme. Tested the nitrites
30 minutes and was at .20ppm. Ran off to the lfs for a Liquid Nitrate test and
they didn't have one. I need to write down what each one carries that I'm
interested in.

I tested an 1-1/2 hours later and at zero now. I'll test at least twice before
going to sleep which will be two 4 hour intervals and again in the AM. I'm
not sure if the Stress Zyme could have worked that soon.
