Black corys

Black corys
Has anyone seen black corys before? They had them in my LFS today, labelled as 'Black Venezuelan' corys but that's meaningless really, they were absolutely gorgeous - totally velvet black, you couldn't even see their eyes they were so black! I would have snapped them up had they not been £10.95 each for juveniles, I went without money and was already having a betta bought for me.
Re: Black corys

I just had to Google them and have a look see. Never had heard of them before, but thats not surprising!
Seems a little high for Corys but since they are rarer not a shock. Very sharp looking IMO!

Re: Black corys
There stunning little corys, One of my favourite looking corys but the cheapest i can find them is £20 each which has always put me off.
Theres Corydoras venezuelanus but they only have a black patch so i doubt it will have been then.

Re: Black corys
I would say they probably were the Schulzei, they looked even deeper black though, absolutely lovely.
Re: Black corys
They sound stunning. I think the colour of the can vary quite a bit depending on quality and remember it could just be the pics that make them look not as black they might be darker in person.
