RIP gold fish

Post by liz2 on Mon Jan 10, 2011 3:56 pm

About 3 or 4 years ago I set up a tank at pre school where I do some voluntary work, nothing fancy, had a filter in. I got 2 goldfish from a neighbour and they have grown and grown. I cleaned them out just before Christmas, but over the holiday period the caretaker was feeding them. She went in just before New Year and the water was cloudy, instead of calling anyone she fed the fish! A few days later she went in and the water was like pea soup and the fish were dead. When we checked the drum of fish food today it was almost empty. Other users use the rooms, so I imagine the filter could have been playing up and then others fed them as well. Really upset they were a couple of really nice ordinary fish, I am annoyed with myself for not saying I would take them home. They have always been ok before though. Sad

Aww Sad most people have no idea how to take care of animals. Sounds like they've been massively overfed. Poor goldies.

You can't always foresee issues in advance so don't be to hard on yourself!

Sorry they are gone! Will you get replacements of a sort?
