Thanks for that info......so any betta with short fins is classed as a plakat even your Imbellis, Smaragdina etc?

Plakat just means 'biting fish' in Thai, so it's a common name. The Imbellis etc. tend to be referred to by the latin names, it's the short-finned form of betta splendens which is called plakat.
