The ph is fine and the temp is ok but i personally would up it to 30c. you could have a few problems in the future though, discus will often bully eachother so need to be kept in groups but even a group of babies wont work in anything under 55g, some breeders would say your tanks fine but that would only be if they where a proven breeding pair for 2 random discus your likely to have problems with fighting in the future which could lead to the death of one of them.

Hiya...thanks for your advice and I will up the temperature as you suggested. So far the pair haven't made any hostile advances at each other. The tank has mirror backs so maybe they think they are in a group. Can you tell male from female at a young age? The guy at the shop couldn't, he said they have to get bigger. So we just had to pick what we liked and hoped we had a pair. Smile

Discus are very hard to sex even when fully grown let alone when young. you might get away with it then but just keep and eye on them because things can turn nasty quick. And i forgot to ask what are you feeding them? discus need a high protein diet so do well with the main part of the diet as live and frozen foods.

I've done it! my poor bank account.....I purchased another 2 discus drunken The other 2 have settled and are now eating. Now I have the same issues with the 2 new ones. The guy at the shop said feed them on minced heart as well as other foods. Do you use heart? is that ok to you?
