New Betta Fanatic
Hello everyone. I "rescued" a male betta (Someone) from a family member whose cat had gotten a little to curious, not long after my fiancee deployed to Afghanistan. He's been my buddy and companion in our empty apartment, and I recently got another male betta (Special) who just refused to let me leave the store without him! Ever since I was concerned that Someone was sick, I started reading up on Bettas and found myself really intrigued about how different they are from other fish. I've been hooked since! I'm really looking forward to looking more about my new buddies.

Thanks for asking! Turns out that he wasn't sick, he just didn't like the pellets I was feeding him, so he wasn't eating, his color would dull and he wasn't really interested in playing. I switched to flakes and he likes them a lot better.

Re: New Betta Fanatic
I'm glad hes doing better.
Sometimes they don't take to certain pellets but are preferred over flakes.
I feed mine Atison's & Biogold pellets. Also I give feedings of frozen
brine shrimp, bloodworms, and daphnia. Once a week shelled mashed peas
to avoid constipation. Also I feed smaller portions twice a day.

I just bought my fish thing of bloodworms the other day. Someone really loved them, but Special didn't really seem interested.

Oh wow, I can't imagine having so many fish and not being able to house them together in one tank!
