Low light, low maintenance plants

OK, recommend me some plants. My lighting isn't all that, I can't be bothered feeding plant food or the like. I wants stuff that just grows of its own accord and is easy!
I have these bulbs that look like onions and sprout very very long green leaves, they do great in my community but crap in my betta tanks!
I have these brown bulbs off Daz that sprout out shoots with lily type leaves on the end, these all do well in all my tanks.
I have various plants that tie onto bogwood like anubias, java fern etc.

what I want is more stuff that plants in the substrate easily, preferably some sort of bulb that takes root again as they are so easy to keep and don't uproot when i am cleaning the tank. And something that either grows tall, or wide, as I am looking for stuff to hide filter/heater on back of tanks.

cambomba and java fern/moss are good in low light situations. Floating plants can also be an idea:)

Had cabomba and it died :p and shedded all over the place too! I want something different..... meh. I am probably just asking the earth!

They are growing like mad in my tanks. The boys love them too sit in them all day LOL. Also this may sound really weird but whenever I have bought plants from LFS they have died. But for some reason Daz's plants grow like anything. I don't have the lights on much and don't add anything extra for them but they keep on growing. Maybe he does something different to them I have no idea LOL.

Oooh I like the look of them! So fluffy! How do you have them planted - do you keep the weight or terracotta pot on them?

Yup they are stunning plants. I have them with the terracotta pot and a weight wrapped around.

Come on plant boy (AKA Daz) what plants are hard to kill?? I need to know to because I have never had any luck but would love to get more plants for the tanks I want names and links to where they are on you site!!! :lol!: I dont ask for much!! :rofl:

I just bought limnophila aquatica from Daz and it looks amazing. Think I'll be getting some more for all the boys!

Also, have a look on - http://www.tropica.com/default.asp and see whatcha like, they have a description of plant needs as well

The green version of Rotala grows really well, as does Roundifolia or however it's spelled. I've plenty of it in my tank, so if you're interested in that I could do a pruning in the next 7-10 days. Tank is like a forest since I started dry salt and liquid carbon dosing LOL

For anyone else interested, I've got those two.. Blyxa japonica, saggitaria(another easy grower), dwarf hairgrass and probably more depending on growth within that time :D

I'm interested in cuttings please! I'll try growing anything really if it is likely to grow without too much care from me!

Anyone got good ideas for how to make stuff grow better, that is really easy to do? I am lazy :p

Netty has some stuff which is referred to as "O2 in a bottle". Its made by "Easy-life" and she has "ProFito" and "EasyCarbo"
She adds both once a week:)

But yeah, plants will always do better with added CO2. I'm using easycarbo, it's 1ml per day per 50 litres.

The shelf bought fertilisers lack certain nutrients like potassium, which will make you're leaves go brown etc. The dry salts aren't too much hassle, you're only dosing 3 times a week on alternate days. So you're dosing 6/7 days alternating between three mixes of powders.

Netty hasn't got many plants so doesn't dose too often. This Easy-life stuff is highly recommended by the Aquatic plant society:)

I have planted in the sand elodea and cambomba (the cambomba keeps going madly out of control so i have to cut it back alot) and ive had great success with floating elodea the surface of the water in my tank is like a jungle!
Could i tie java fern to a bit of bogwood?
I really dont want my tank overcrowding!

Yep....you can tie Java fern to bogwood. Fishing line is good to use as it doesn't rot in the water.
