2.5 gallon? And recommendation?

Post by lilacamy931 on Sun Jul 26, 2009 3:38 pm

Currently have 10g with Calcifer and 2 ADFs, a 5g which will be the second betta when sourced Smile.

I have a small 2.5g = 11 by 7 by 7 inches.

Would this be suitable for a betta? I have usually gone by the 3g rule, what are your thoughts guys.

I was thinking of getting the iddy biddest heater that can (recommendations welcome, going to price up locally). Would also like recommendations on filters and whether perhaps as it is small should do without a filter and do much more regular water changes to not take up on room. If it is suitable would plan on keeping bare bottom with a few silk weighted plants (or other recommendations).

Thanks for reading and any advice Smile

I have 2 gallons that I use for grow outs or quarentine tanks. short term until you get something better they are ok. but long term a tad small.

Yeah that is what I thought. I am thinking quarantine tank for now. The dwarf puffs may be moving home to a better life during the course of the week so will have a 14g instead pr at least 10g of it Smile

My other half pointed out a good factor that we have two frogs, if one gets ill and needs separating where will I put it to treat? Very good point that tank will stay for "just in case" moments! As these can never be predicted;)
