fancy cold water

Post by liz2 on Sun Jul 26, 2009 6:41 pm

I have a tank of fancy coldwater, and one of them has a patch of fuzz. He has had this for weeks, yesterday when I cleaned them out I left him by himself and treated him with methylene blue. Anyway today he was so miserable I put him back in with his mates. What do you think I should do if anything, apart from just keep an eye on him?
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] that is the only fuzz, the rest is my dirty camera!

When you have finished with the methylene blue hun i would treat with myaxzin for 5 days
He definately looks like fungus and can spread very quickly so if the methylene blue doesn't work add the myaxzin

If i was you i would do a large water change - 70-80% and a gravel vac , also rinse the filter media (in used tank water)- no matter even if you have done it recently
then carry on with the treatment just so all the water is perfect and the filter is at full strength

i do know a little about coldwaters - more than tropicals actually lol as I kept fancy coldwaters for 20 years before moving to tropical last september

you should really treat him in the tank hun cos the other fish could already be affected

Why would you have to remove him
