how many???
hi all,
could anyone tell me how many girlies i could have in a 40litre please
not urgent its cycling but doesnt stop me from looking and organising

40 litre is only about 8ish gallons, so won't really be big enough for a group of girls as they'll need plenty of space and it should be quite heavily planted.
Once all the substrate, oranaments and plants are in it will take the volume down even more.
If you really want a sorority I would go for at least a 60litre, so alternatively you could divide that one for a couple of nice males

hmmm thats messed my plans a little
ive just split my 60 l for 2 males,
will have to re think now what im going to do with it.

No probs.......you could swap them around maybe. Each male would have 4ish gals each.
Sororitys are notorious difficult to keep so the more room they have the better chance of success with them.

the only sucess I have had with a sorority was in a 29 gallon with a huge bunch of silk plants and 5 large ornaments crammed in the bottom.
and even then once I got the "girls" together" 2 turned out to be boys.
