Male or Female?

Post by Lairewen on Sat Aug 01, 2009 6:17 pm

This fish was sold to me as a female, but I have a sneaking suspicion it might actually be a short-finned male, can anyone confirm? Thanks. Smile

It's still quite young but looking at the length of the ventrils and the pointed end of the anal fin then I would definately say it's a male.

Will be quite a nice one too when he matures thumbup

Thanks! I suspected it when I got him, but when I queried it the sales guy looked at me like I was stupid and pointed out the short fins. :P

I'm amazed I got a young one from 'large chain pet shop' though - that is good news. And he's a very good community fish too. Smile

This will give you an idea of what he'll look like in a few months time.

This boy was bought with a group of females until we spotted him changing lol

I love a girly boy. I always peer in the girls tank just in case I can spot one! Usually when the girls are stress striped its a good sign!
